OH THANK HEAVEN!: 7-Eleven will celebrate New Year's Day by offering customers a free small-size coffee from midnight to 6 a.m.

NEW WINERY: Ray and Kristi Curtis have opened the Northwest Mountain Winery at 2825 Marvin Road N.E. in Olympia. They produce dry Riesling, Chardonnay, Syrah and Cab Franc, along with several fruit wines and spiced mead. They are open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday-Sunday beginning Jan. 7.

NEW RESTAURANT: Meme Rincon and Stephen Ferruzza will open Al Forno Ferruzza Jan. 3 at 408 Fourth Ave. E. (the same address that formerly housed both the A2 and the Clubside Café) in Olympia. In addition to enjoying the restaurants' creations, which include pizza by the slice or whole pies, calzones and stromboli, patrons will be able to  bring home their own taste of Sicily, as there will be a deli case with a variety of homemade cheeses and imported oils. HELP OUT FOR HALF OFF: For the rest of the month you can have fun at the Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium at a discounted price - and help out hungry Pierce County families. The Help Out for Half-Off campaign runs through Dec. 31, offering half-off daytime general admission to zoo visitors who donate a non-perishable food item, which will head to the Emergency Food Network. The discount applies to zoo daytime general admission only and is not valid for Zoolights admission.

OFF THE VINE: El Gaucho Tacoma (2119 Pacific Ave., Tacoma) hosts a wine tasting and retail event from 4-6 p.m. Jan. 7 and 21 for $10 a person. Reservations not required.

COOKING CLASS: Primo Grill (601 S. Pine, Tacoma) will host a Northern Italy cooking class from 2-4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 8. The cost is $65. Reserve your spot at 253.383.7000.

OPENING SOON: Seasonal Delights Café & Espresso Co. is scheduled to open in early January inside the Freighthouse Square by the Tacoma Dome.

666 NIGHT: The Swiss (1904 S. Jefferson, Tacoma) offers six wings and six beers from 4 p.m. to close every Wednesday. The wings come in three levels of heat.
